Oral health therapist, treating children and adults

Zoe completed a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2016 and a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy in 2019, both at the University of Newcastle. She provides preventative and restorative care across all ages, working within her scope of practice and alongside our dentists when a case calls for it.

For children under 18 that means check-ups and cleans, fillings, baby-tooth extractions, fissure sealants and stainless steel crowns. For adults, check-ups and cleans, fillings, periodontal (gum) disease management, professional whitening and oral health care.

Where restorative work goes beyond her scope, she’ll bring in Dr Nish or Dr Nav rather than pressing on — you get the right person for the job without having to go anywhere else.

Zoe puts real time into the education part — brushing and flossing technique, interdental brushes, which foods are quietly causing trouble, which cleaning aids are worth buying. It’s the least glamorous part of dentistry and it prevents more problems than anything else we do. Outside work she travels and enjoys meeting new people.
