Your First Visit

Four questions, answered in order

Every first visit follows the same four-part conversation. Nothing happens to your teeth before you understand it and agree to it.

We start by listening — your concerns, your history, what you want out of your smile.

A thorough examination, then we show you the problem areas on screen and explain your options plainly.

What are we going to do?

Together we agree a personalised treatment plan — with clear costs before anything begins.

What will the results be?

We talk through the expected outcome, recovery and alternatives, so there are no surprises.

Before you arrive, we’ll ask you to complete a short medical history form. It matters more than it looks: medications, allergies and health conditions all change how we plan dental treatment safely, so please fill it in fully — it stays private to your clinical record.

Plenty of the people we see put off their visit for years. There’s no lecture waiting for you here — just a plan, and some genuine comfort options:

Ceiling screens

Netflix or music on in-chair ceiling screens — something else to focus on during longer appointments.

Gentle pacing

We explain each step before it happens, and you can pause us at any time. Nothing proceeds until you’re ready.

Sedative options

Where clinically appropriate, sedative medication can take the edge off an appointment. Ask when you book and we’ll talk it through.

By car

On-street parking on Lawes Street, council parking near Your Discount Chemist, and parking at the rear of the practice.

By train

500m from Victoria Street Station and 1.2km from East Maitland Station — both an easy walk.

By bus

The bus stop is directly opposite the practice — Lawes Street near Burg Street.

Access for everyone

Entrance ramp and easy wheelchair access, an accessible toilet, pram-friendly entry and a kids’ play area inside.

New patient offer

Your first visit — exam, treatment plan, X-rays, scale and clean, fluoride — is no-gap with a participating health fund rebating $199 or more, or a flat $199 without cover. New patients only; a $50 booking deposit applies and is credited against the visit.

HICAPS on-the-spot health fund claiming, all funds welcome, CDBS bulk billed for eligible children, DVA cards accepted, and interest-free plans through Humm and DentiCare (lending criteria, fees and T&Cs apply).
